This is part 5 of a 10-part series which challenges commonly held assumptions about vaccination. This episode questions the claim that Edward Jenner's cowpox vaccine prevented smallpox and eventually eradicated smallpox from the planet. Amazingly, even though Jenner's barbaric vaccine was apparently ineffective in preventing smallpox and only caused harm, medical and government support saved the vaccine from sharing the fate of other bizarre and harmful medical interventions which were relegated to the pages of medical history and enabled it to pave the way for the invention of further and equally ineffective and similarly barbaric vaccines, thus giving birth to what has today become the multi-billion dollar global vaccine industry. Again we are very grateful to all the individuals whose identities, pictures words and stories are featured in this presentation and once more a special thank you to Dr. med. Gerhard Buchwald for the use of his photos of smallpox patients and victims of the smallpox vaccine. Dr. Buchwald's only son sustained severe brain damage as a result of a smallpox vaccination he was given at the age of 18 months. Now 51, he is still incapable of speaking, shaving, or brushing his own teeth. It also meant that after an unbroken chain of ancestors who had prevailed against wars, famines and epidemics for many thousands of years, this particular branch of the Buchwald family has come to an end - ironically as a result of a medical procedure meant to save their son from harm.
