Kyler Quelch presented the Red Sox with a Champion Award at our Champion for Children's.
Kyler was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age 2 and has been treated by Children's Hospital Boston ever since. The cerebral palsy has made the muscle tone in his legs too tight. As a result, Kyler relies on a walker to get around and to play his favorite sport, baseball. The family lives in Vermont, but travels to Children's Hospital a few times a month because of its world-class care.
Despite the challenges of cerebral palsy, he is an avid alpine skier and plays T-ball. Kyler's doctors nominated him to throw out a first pitch at Fenway because of trivia knowledge of and loyalty to the team.
